Service Description
Payment Policy and Schedule In order to help teachers focus on the lessons rather than administrative work, the payment for the classes is via PayPal in 8 instalments with one additional payment in May. Please read the breakdown below and let us know if you have any questions. The total number of lessons from September to April is divided in 8 equal payments. The first payment happens at the time of registration in the Crescendo system and every 30th day of the month for 7 consecutive months after that (totalling 8 instalments). Please notice that for that reason you will see two payments in September. Since students are entitled to two cancellations per term (Term 1 Fall, Term 2 Winter/Spring) totalling 4 lessons per academic year, the months of May and June are charged separately, on the first week of May, in order to account for any changes in the schedule including previous teacher or student cancellations that were not made up in that school year. You will receive a separate link at the end of April for that payment. Please notice that, according to the student Handbook, any cancelations must be done with a minimum of 48 hours notice given via email to the instructor in order to receive a make up or count as a discounted lesson. We understand that unfortunately things like sickness and emergencies occur last minute, but in order to respect teachers schedules and considering the difficulty to reschedule lessons last minute, we can’t offer exceptions as we don’t have access to additional rooms or time slots outside of our schedules. Please see below the breakdown for the expected lessons for this academic year: Lessons: October: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th November: 12th, 19th & 26th December: 3rd & 10th January: 14th, 21st & 28th February: 4th, 11th. 18th & 25th March: 4th & 11th April: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th Total 24 Lessons
Cancellation Policy
- New private students are eligible to receive one free trial lesson before the beginning of their first lesson at Crescendo. If after that class they are no longer interested in the course, they may request a refund by emailing info@crescendomusicstudio.ca. After that, and for all returning students, our refund policy is as follows: - Any cancellations after registration are subjected to a 25% non-refundable fee, plus applicable credit card fees. This fee is calculated based on the full tuition of the registered term, not just the remaining classes. - Students are allowed to reschedule up to 2 lessons per term in a time agreed by both the student and the teacher. Any cancelled lessons that exceed this amount might not be rescheduled and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, pending teacher and studio availability. - Lessons must be rescheduled 24 hours prior to the original scheduled time in order to receive a guaranteed make up lesson. - Late arrivals: teachers will wait for up to 15 minutes past a student’s lesson start time. After that, that lesson will be considered a late cancelation and, therefore, not eligible for rescheduling. - A make up lesson can be booked with your teacher directly or with the studio administration by emailing info@crescendomusicstudio.ca. - There are no refunds for unused lessons or cancelled lessons that exceed the maximum of each term. - Lessons cannot be transferred from one term to the next. - If the teacher cancels a lesson, the student will have the option to attend their regular scheduled time with a substitute teacher (when one can be arranged) or reschedule that lesson in a time agreed by both the student and the teacher, including the possibility to add this class to the end of the term in the make up week (the week following the last scheduled class). - Crescendo doesn't offer drop in classes or monthly classes. Payment plans are a way to split the tuition fee into instalment payments in order to ease payment for those who prefer. It is not a monthly commitment, but a full term or full year commitment. By registering for a specific term or year, the student (or guardian) is responsible for paying the full amount of the tuition for the class they are registering being it in full or in instalments. - In case in-person lessons need to be suspended due to Covid-19 or other mandatory closures, all lessons will continue online until it is possible to resume in-person lessons at the studio.
