Service Description

At this age, children are ready to express themselves musically as long as we give them the tools and the space to do so and that is what this course is all about! In this class, children are encouraged to move to, sing, listen and play music in order to develop their musical skills that include: singing in tune, recognizing and performing beat and rhythm, high and low sounds, soft and loud sounds as well as play age appropriate percussion instruments with proper technique. The entire curriculum is presented to children in a playful manner so that all they have to do is play. What to expect from the class: For this age group, children will interact not only with their parents, but also with the teacher and their classmates while engaging in active music making. All classes start with a greeting song where children have the opportunity to explore their singing by introducing themselves. Following that, rhymes, singing games and movement games are introduced in order to encourage children to internalize the fundamentals of music in a playful and engaging manner. Children also engage in creative play where they have the chance to explore new improvisation on composition abilities. Every class children will play a percussion instrument. At the end of class, all participants listen to a song performed by the teacher using the piano, recorder, ukulele or another instrument chosen for that week. Cancellation Policy

- New private students are eligible to receive one free trial lesson before the beginning of their first lesson plan. If after that class they are no longer interested in the course, they may request a refund by emailing info@crescendomusicstudio.ca. After that, and for all returning students, our refund policy is as follows: - Students are allowed to reschedule up to 2 lessons in the Fall term and 3 lessons in the Winter/Spring term and receive a make up lesson in a time agreed by both the student and the teacher. Any cancelled lessons that exceed this amount might not be rescheduled and will be considered on a case-by-case basis, pending teacher and studio availability. - Cancellation of a lesson must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a guaranteed make up lesson. - Late arrivals: teachers will wait for up to 15 minutes past a student’s lesson start time. After that, that lesson will be considered a late cancelation and, therefore, not eligible for rescheduling. - A make up lesson can be booked with your teacher directly or with the studio administration. - There are no refunds on unused lessons or cancelled lessons that exceed the maximum for each term. - Lesson credits cannot be transferred from one term to the next. - If the teacher cancels a lesson, the student will have the option to attend their regular scheduled time with a substitute teacher (when one can be arranged) or reschedule that lesson in a time agreed by both the student and the teacher, including the possibility to add this class to the end of the term in the make up week (the week following the last scheduled class). - In case in-person lessons need to be suspended due to Covid-19, all lessons will continue online until it is possible to resume in-person lessons at the studio.
